Katie Holmes the wife of Tom Cruise suspects private investigators have been employed by the Church of Scientology to follow her.
Two men were seen outside the home of Tom Cruise three days before Katie filed for divorce, they were sitting in a Mercedes about one hundred yards from the apartment.
As soon as Katie left the building the two private detectives tried to covertly follow her, it was evident that they were not press trying to get a picture of her.
When Katie moved out of the home the two men were seen outside her new place as well, obviously watching her movements.
Clearly Katie was somewhat concerned as to what was taking place so she instructed her own security people to start recording the two men and to call the police.
When the police arrived they approached the men in their Mercedes and asked what they were up to. The private investigators stated that they were waiting for someone to arrive at the bus stop and were not watching the actress Katie Holmes.
She filed for divorce because of fears that the Church was going to have too much influence over her child’s upbringing. When children become six years of age Scientology starts to educate them about their religious beliefs. The divorce was filed in New York, where she stands a better chance of obtaining sole custody.
The actress suspects the Scientologists instructed private detectives to follow her when they became aware that she was going to be filing for divorce.
The Church of Scientology was set up in 1953 by the sci-fi writer L Ron Hubbard. The religion has been accused in the past of following and harassing former member who try leave the organisation. Tom Cruise has stated that he intends to fight for custody of the couples six year old daughter.
